Brooklyn Bridge July 2006 Ah, Brooklyn Bridge, the world recognized landmark. This was my first time actually walking on the Brooklyn Bridge. I didn't go all the way across, as it was hot... so I basically walked up to the first archway from the Manhattan side. The pedestrian walk way is actualy in the middle of the bridge, with the car lanes underneath to the sides. I'm sure the views would be great at night overlooking the Manhattan skyline. But it was hot and the sun was blazing when I went, so the skyline was backlit too heavily for any decent photos. |

Central Park South July 2006 Central Park South and Grand Army Plaza. Nothing too spectatular in this area that I noticed. Just your average midtown sky scrapers and quaint sceneries. I suppose you can feel that the environment is a bit more subdued, as it is next to the largest park in Manhattan. I went to the Apple Store for the first time here. It was a neat place, in that it's entrance is just a big cube of glass, and you basically go downstairs to the store itself. |

4th of July July 2006 4th of July 2006. Went to the roof of the wushu school in Chinatown to take a couple shots of the fireworks. I'm shooting through a fence and using full zoom on most of the fireworks shots. Couldn't get a full view of them either unfortunately. |

Washington Square Park / NYU May 2006 I've walked by Washington Square Park a few times before, and have been meaning to photograph the area. I was under the impression that it was a nice park, but there are lots of shady looking characters at this park who say 'hey man' or 'yo guy, what's up' to random people. I don't know what the deal is since it's my first time actually in the park. Rumor has it that lots of drug deals go on here? Nevertheless, the Washington Square Arch is a notable monument of this area put forth to commemorate George Washington of course. Eariler photos of the Arch will likely show it framing the World Trade Center in the distance. Interesting place, nonetheless. Photos from in and around NYU as well. And I was suprised when I was walking and then looked up and saw the banner for the USA Shaolin Temple. So that's where it is?! |

Times Square 2 May 2006 Times Square 2: Daytime. It was a gloomy looking day with overcast. The thing about Times Square, as in my opinion, is that there is a lot to see... but really, there's nothing to do there. Well, unless you have money and feel like shopping or eating at some overpriced resturant or are feeling a bit yuppy and go watch a live show. :P It's a place mainly for tourist really. Photos including Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt at Madame Tussauds, Nokia Theatre, MTV Studios, The Hershey's Store, and the usual sites and flashy signs of Times Square. |

Financial District March 2006 The Financial District of downtown, New York City. During non-business days, it seems like the only people on the streets in this area are tourist. Some streets are sometimes eerily quiet and empty. Vehicle traffic is blocked off in many parts by large rocks, pillars, and baracades. With the tightly constructed buildings, a shadow is casted in all directions. Photos from in and around the Financial District, including the New York Stock Exchange and the sculptural/modern art pieces along Broadway. |

Chinatown Lions January 2006 Chinese New Year 2006 in Chinatown. It was raining lightly, but enough to put a damper on the festivities of Chinese New Year in Chinatown. It was a bit nervewrecking trying to shoot in the rain because I didn't want to damage the camera. Nevertheless, here are photos of several lion dance troupes (Golden Lion Club, NY Rockits, and others) making their way through crowded streets and rain. My first Chinese New Year in Chinatown was quite an interesting experience. |

Wushu Shoes 2 January 2006 Another small set of wushu shoes. I got my 2nd pair of Feiyue's, and retired the 1st pair due to a sizeable gash on the bottom. Feiyue's are ok shoes, but aren't anything too special I'd say. They fall apart pretty easily; others agree. Also, brought up my other pair of Asics wrestling shoes from home, this is the Mosh JL002 model. Will use these for gymnastics and such. |

5th Avenue Midtown November 2005 5th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan has a high-class feel with numerous large flagship size stores. A wide array of expensive fashion stores aline 5th Ave with a doorman at almost every entrance. Photos around and along 5th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. |

Rockefeller Center November 2005 Ahh, Rockefeller Center in the heart of midtown Manhattan. A touch of ancient Greek presence, projecting a scene of power and splender. Photos from in and around Rockefeller Center and Saint Patrick's Cathedral. Including NBC Studios, Radio City Music Hall, and Rockefeller Plaza. |

Grand Central October 2005 I've been wanting to take photos of Grand Central for some time. But as I had thought before, Grand Central's romantic lighting would prove horrible for photography. This is the difficulty of interior photography. I have yet to figure out how to take effective photos in a low light environment. Did lighting alterations to most of the dark photos. Photos from in and around Grand Central Terminal, 42nd Street Manhattan. |

Central Park October 2005 My first visit to the awe inspiring Central Park, Manhattan. Entering through Artisans' Gate, I leave the hustle and bustle of New York City traffic and enter the garden haven of recreation, peaceful serenity, and let your hair down fun. Central Park is a step back from the stressful city life, while keeping the New York City culture and atmosphere. Photos of Central Park South and a few photos from the southern edge, including Carnegie Hall. |

Digital Life October 2005 The DigitalLife digital lifestyle convention at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. This was definately more exciting than your normal computer show. Many of the big names in computing, electronics, and gaming were represented. This was the last day of the 3-day convention. Since this was all indoors (and because gamers love the dimmed light), lighting was poor for my photos and I was unable to take many good ones. |

Union Square October 2005 Photos in and around 14th Street, Union Square, Manhattan. Union Square is a flea market/park area with your numerous New York style street performers, vendors, and protesters. Took these photos in the early evening of a gloomy day, so color rendering may not be too great. However, since it was a gloomy day, there was not a large crowd. Photos including a couple breakdancers whom did not have a crowd around them because the crowd was watching a group of a cappella singers from Duke University. |

Wushu Shoes October 2005 A few photos of my wushu shoes. Including my new, first pair of Feiyue wushu shoes. My Asics wrestling shoes finally gave way to the abundance of sweeps. Are those Feiyue's cute or what? |
